Follow along with the Tea Docents as they travel the world searching for all things tea.
We will try to post as we travel so that you share the discoveries as we experience them.
Spring of 2010 - Japan - 88 Temple Shikoku Pilgrimage.
Following in the steps of the 8th Century Japanese monk who built these Buddhist Temples throughout the Japanese Island of Shikoku. This pilgrimage involved about 900 miles around the entire island and upon completion required a stay Koyasan. Details to follow soon.
Winter of 2009 - SEA Cruise.
Starting in Singapore, an 18 day cruise aboard the Azamara Quest to Bangkok, Laos, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hao Long Bay, Canton, and Hong Kong. Details to follow soon.
Winter of 2008 - Kyoto, Japan.
The Tea Docents are in Taiwan with the Taiwan to visit the legendary high mountain oolong processing region. They will evaluate the damage caused by the recent typhoon which have reported to have moved some tea farms from the mountain side.
Spring of 2008 - Japan Sakura and Tea Harvest
The Tea Docents are in Japan to oversee the first harvest. It is a very busy time for tea farmers. They will preparing the fields for the first harvest. Sakura is in full bloom with festivals everywhere.
Fall of 2007 - Japan Coastal Cruise
The Tea Docents are on a cruise around Japan, originating in Kobe down to to Nagasaki, and then up the Japan Seaside. The ship is small and can berth in smaller ports so we will access to scenery not commonly seen by tourist.
Fall of 2007 - China Tea Buying Trek
The Tea Docents are in China re-visiting some tea regions and more excitingly, exploring tea regions they have not yet visited. They will be tasting some new teas that they have only heard or read about.
